Introduction of Statice
The plant commonly known as Statice Flower is correctly called Limonium, which belongs to the Limoniaceae family. It is different from the “Forget Me Not” flower, which belongs to a different family and genus, but Statice Flower is often mistakenly referred to as “Forget Me Not” in the market.
Colors and Characteristics of Statice
Statice Flower mainly come in white, yellow, purple, and pink. The colors people usually see are actually the colors of the calyx, which has a texture similar to crumpled paper. Small yellow or white flowers bloom in the center of the calyx.
After the small flowers wither, the calyx remains intact and its color does not fade, which is why it is sometimes called the “everlasting flower”.
Applications of Statice
Statice Flower has a low water content, making it suitable as dried flowers for dried flower arrangements.
Statice usually used as filler flower, but sometimes it can be used as the main flower.
